I wrote this song in response to having listened to Yuck's debut album on repeat for many years. I sent the demo to my producer, Jarrett, and he re-tracked it over at his studio (Mixtape Studios) in Alexandria, VA. After I got the first mix back, I obsessively listened to it to the point of wanting to bring in three guitarists to replace what Jarrett had tracked. When it comes to guitars, I don't subscribe to the 'less is more' school of thought. This particular version does not have violin on it but we did bring in my friend Emily Chimiak to track violin on the song. Her parts are gorgeous and will be used on a different version that will be released at a later date. The last musician to track on this song is a friend of mine who is one of my favorite keys players that I know personally. When I reached out to Shannon about the song, he told me that I could send the mix to him and he'd see what he could do with it. He basically turned the song into a b side to The Cure's album 'Disintegration'. Well, this song is a little happier than the songs on that album but once you give this song a spin, I think you'll agree.
